Castle Crags State Park

As of Monday morning, July 30th, the Carr Fire has moved away from the city of Redding, moving to the north, west and south.  Although there are no evacuations near the area of Castle Crags State Park, conditions can change at any time.  Periods of heavy smoke can be expected and visitors with allergies or respiratory issues should be advised to plan accordingly.

We welcome you to our website and thank you for your interest in Castle Crags State Park.  Here you will be introduced not only to our spectacular park, but also to McArthur~Burney Falls Memorial State Park and Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park.  We will talk about what to do while visiting or staying at the park, nearby attractions, and park news and events.  We'll discuss the McArthur-Burney Falls Interpretive Association and Friends of the Crags, and we will provide you with links to other parks, similar organizations and area attractions.  Come and visit with us; pull up a rock and squat awhile and we’ll enjoy the view together.
